PERTH, Australia (The Sunday Times) — A ROBBER wielding an ornamental sword returned to the service station he had allegedly just held up when he realised he had left his haul behind, police say.

The 20-year-old man approached an attendant at a service station in South Perth about 1.30am today and allegedly demanded money and cigarettes.

The attendant took money from the till and packets of cigarettes and placed them in a bag.

The offender fled on foot across the Canning Highway before realising he had left the bag in the service station.

According to the story, he actually went back after the store closed and begged the store owner to give the money he was supposed to steal back to him. Ironically, he also left his "To-Do List" in the store with the uncompleted task, "Steal money."

Not to worry, police caught him just a few streets away from the gas station with the sword still in his easily-confused clutches. He reportedly told police, "You may take my freedom, but you''ll never take my…oh wait, scratch that."
